Annie Darnley
co-creator & performer
Annie is a queer, trans artist and performer who uses dance, music and spoken word to weave binary melting stories with autobiographical beginnings. Their movement practice explores what it is to be a body with others, provocatively troubling a boundary of human/non-human.
Annie has worked internationally within performing arts since 2014, as a dancer, musician, and writer, sharing work across stages, street-theatre, galleries and community spaces. They also work within health and social care and are training as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist (DMP). Through this training they are learning to use dance to support a therapeutic process - supporting self-expression and affirming difference to facilitate a sense of self-authorship. Across their work they seek to trouble 'normal' to celebrate and nourish an acceptance of 'difference'.
